Stabbing at Bus Stop Causes Some Hilliard Schools to Close, Suspect in Custody

HILLIARD, Ohio-Four elementary schools in Hilliard, Ohio, were closed Monday following a stabbing incident involving two juveniles at a bus stop. Police responded to the scene at 7:25 a.m., where a 13-year-old boy was charged with felonious assault after a juvenile victim was hospitalized with a stomach wound. A heavy police presence, including drone surveillance, was established while searching for the suspect, who was apprehended by 1 p.m. As a precaution, Heritage Middle School and several high schools were placed on lockdown, but students were dismissed normally. Parents expressed concern for their children’s safety, while school officials confirmed that all students and staff were unharmed. The victim’s condition is stable, and classes are expected to resume as normal on Tuesday.
