COLUMBUS, Ohio-The South-Western City School District is in the final stages of selecting a new superintendent. Randy Banks, currently assistant superintendent at Worthington City Schools, and Dr. Jamie Lusher, deputy superintendent at South-Western, are the two final candidates.
Both will undergo a second round of interviews and meet with various stakeholders next week. One of them will succeed the current superintendent, Bill Wise, who is retiring in August. Banks has a background in education leadership and has served in various administrative roles, while Lusher brings experience from both academic and administrative positions, including a Ph.D. from Ohio State University. Meet and greet forums for each candidate will be held on June 3 and 4, with the final decision expected from the board on June 8. South-Western City School District, the fifth largest in Ohio, serves around 21,000 students and 2,700 staff across several communities in central Ohio.
