Westerville School Board Member Resigns Four Months Before Term Ends

WESTERVILLE, Ohio-Nancy Nestor-Baker, a Westerville school board member, is retiring this month, four months before her term was set to end. She announced her resignation at a Board of Education meeting, citing increased personal and professional demands. Her retirement, effective August 31, comes amid an ongoing ethics investigation into her decision-making, specifically concerning votes related to her daughter, Caley Baker, who is a principal at Hanby Elementary. Nestor-Baker insists her decision is unrelated to the investigation. The Ohio Ethics Commission is looking into potential conflicts of interest, which could result in felony or misdemeanor charges. The board will soon begin the process to find a replacement for the remainder of her term.
