All Ohio schools have to come up with a plan to ban cellphones during the day by Jan. 1, 2026. Some districts, like Toledo Public Schools, are implementing their bans at the start of the new school year in August. TPS high schoolers will have to lock their phones in pouches during the day, prompting concerns from some parents about what happens during an emergency.
