OVCTC Excels at Ohio FFA State Competitions

WILMINGTON, Ohio-The Ohio Valley FFA from Adams County achieved notable success in Career Development Events (CDEs), winning two championship titles in a single school year. In the Grain Merchandising event, students underwent an online test followed by live business simulations at Wilmington College, securing first place. The winning team comprised senior Grant McClanahan and juniors Isabella Crum, MaRhea Unger, and Hannah Hauke.

In the General Livestock contest, students evaluated various livestock phenotypically and genotypically, excelling in both preliminaries and finals. Seniors David Raines and Grant McClanahan performed exceptionally well individually, with Raines placing fourth in oral reasons and McClanahan securing a high score in breeding heifers. Isabella Crum also contributed significantly to the team’s success. The team’s accomplishments were under the guidance of OVCTC Ag Business teacher Luke Rhonemus, with support from parents, community members, and industry professionals.
