April 3rd, 2024-CHESTERLAND, Ohio-An 18-year-old student named Brandon Morrissette from Ohio is facing serious charges, including attempted aggravated murder, after allegedly bringing a gun to West Geauga High School in Chesterland. Morrissette was found with a 9mm handgun and three fully-loaded magazines in his bag, along with a lock blade-style knife. Police discovered the weapons after investigating a 9mm bullet found in the male restroom, which led to Morrissette’s identification as the suspect.
He admitted to planning to use the gun to shoot multiple students at the school. Morrissette was arrested on April 3, prompting a brief shelter-in-place and subsequent lockdown of the school for the rest of the day. Following two security sweeps, no further threats were found. Morrissette faces charges of attempted aggravated murder, illegal possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone, and inducing panic.
