CCS Facilities Task Force Holds Final Forums on School Closures Amid Controversy

COLUMBUS, OHIO-The Superintendent’s Community Facilities Task Force for Columbus City Schools is holding its final forums today to gather input before making recommendations on school closures and consolidations. These forums include a virtual Zoom session at 11:30 a.m. and in-person events at Briggs High School auditorium and Olde Orchard Elementary School at 5:30 p.m.

Controversy arose last month when a leaked internal memo revealed tactics to silence critics of the consolidation efforts, leading to outrage from union and community members. An internal investigation found that board member Brandon Simmons authored the document.
