Tornadoes in Ohio: Past the Peak, But Not Done Yet

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio has experienced a record-setting tornado season in 2024, with 69 tornadoes reported so far, including at least four new ones from recent storms. Historically, Ohio’s peak tornado months are April through July, but tornadoes can occur year-round. Recent data shows that tornadoes are becoming more frequent, with an average of at least one tornado per month expected. Residents should remain vigilant for severe weather threats throughout the year, even outside the traditional peak season.
