NEW ALBANY, Ohio-On Thursday morning, the New Albany Early Learning Center conducted a test of its new Centegix security system, designed to enhance safety by providing rapid emergency alerts. The system, used by Apalachee High School in Georgia, features automated lockdown drills with chimes, locked doors, and flashing lights. It allows for precise threat location via buttons on staff badges and can trigger immediate lockdowns and emergency responses. Principal Michelle Levero emphasized its importance for young children, while Assistant Superintendent Ken Kraemer highlighted its role in empowering staff to quickly call for help. The system is now operational across the district’s schools and administrative buildings.
