Reynoldsburg City Schools’ First Levy in 14 years Would Raise $40M+ Over Next 5 Years

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio-Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking to pass a levy to raise $8.5 million annually for the next five years, marking its first levy request in 14 years. To inform the community, the district is holding a final discussion session on Thursday at the Reynoldsburg Senior Center. The levy would cost homeowners approximately $233 per $100,000 in property value. The district cites the need for the levy due to depleting savings and rising everyday costs, exacerbated by the end of federal pandemic funding and reduced state support. Superintendent Dr. Tracy Reed acknowledged the financial strain on families but emphasized the importance of funding for staff and students. The district has not made decisions on potential cuts if the levy fails, leaving concerns among community members.
