BUCYRUS, Ohio-During the Wynford Board of Education’s May meeting, several key updates and decisions were made. Scott Brown presented the Auditor of State award to Treasurer Leesa Smith and her team, an honor received by only about ten percent of Ohio organizations. The board approved the retire/rehire of Mr. David Mason, who will teach a new career exploration class next year. Sandra Koehler raised concerns about the hiring process for the new boys’ basketball coach, to which Superintendent Forrest Trisler responded that interviews are ongoing, with a decision expected by the May 28 meeting. The previously scheduled Spanish trip to Spain has been postponed to 2026 to allow more fundraising time, while a trip to Puerto Rico remains set for 2025. The board also approved William Byrnes as head cross-country coach with a 4-1 vote.
