MIDDLETOWN, Ohio-Madison Local Schools went into lockdown on Friday morning after receiving a threatening voicemail that mentioned a potential shooting at the school. The threat was reported to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office around 7:36 a.m., prompting the district to activate its safety procedures. Superintendent Jeff Staggs later informed families that the sheriff’s office determined the threat was a “swatting incident,” meaning it was false. Initially, a seventh-grade student was detained and interviewed, but it was not confirmed if they were a suspect.
