WHITEOAK, Ohio-The Whiteoak Wildcats track and field team showcased their talent at the Division 3 Regional Track Meet, with notable performances across various events. Despite facing tough competition, the boys’ 4 x 800-meter relay team secured a spot at the state level, demonstrating resilience and strategic racing. Individual athletes, including Landen Eyre and Weston Blair, delivered impressive performances in the 1,600 meters and 800 meters, respectively.
Eyre’s victory in the 3,200 meters added to the team’s success, highlighting their dedication and preparation. The Wildcats showed support for their peers from North Adams and other schools, emphasizing camaraderie within the Southern Hills Athletic Conference. Coach Doug Hughes expressed pride in his team’s achievements and acknowledged the talent within their league. The Wildcats look forward to the state meet, with their relay team scheduled to compete on Thursday and Eyre and Blair set to participate in running events on Friday.
