Man Convicted of Killing 16-Year-Old Boy Sentenced to Prison

AKRON, Ohio-Daryeus Jones, 20, has been sentenced to a minimum of 21½ years in prison for the 2022 shooting death of 16-year-old Jamarian Coffey. Jones pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. The shooting occurred on October 22, 2022, when Jones and another individual confronted Coffey and shot him multiple times. Domonic Herring, involved in the case, received a 14-to-16½ year prison sentence in October 2023. Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich emphasized that the community is safer with both men incarcerated.
