WYOMING, Ohio-For senior running back Joel Hancock, the Wyoming High School football program embodies family and tradition. He describes his passion for the sport and the supportive culture, noting that he has been part of the team for as long as he can remember. Joel, the youngest son of head coach Aaron Hancock, has played football since elementary school and has a rich family history in the program, with two older brothers also having played there. Having started as a center and later transitioning to running back, Joel has fond memories, including a state championship photo from when he was a sixth grader. This season, he’s had a standout performance, rushing for 801 yards and 10 touchdowns through four games, including a notable 231-yard game in a recent victory, which earned him the WCPO 9 Gold Star Athlete of the Week.
