Teen Father Deliberately Left Infant Son To Die In Ohio Hot-Car Incident

April 3rd, 2024-DOVER, Ohio-Landon Parrott, a 19-year-old father from Ohio, has been charged with murder after confessing to intentionally leaving his 1-year-old son, Kyler, in a hot car for approximately five hours. Parrott initially provided inconsistent information about the incident but later admitted to leaving the child unattended in the car because he “didn’t want to be disturbed.” Surveillance footage corroborated Parrott’s actions, showing him leaving the residence with Kyler at 8:30 a.m. and returning at 1:50 p.m.

The child, left in the car with an outside temperature of 87 degrees, passed away after suffering in the extreme heat. Parrott, facing charges including murder and involuntary manslaughter, is held on a $250,000 bond at Tuscarawas County Jail. The tragedy has devastated the community, with investigators estimating the interior of the car reached 130 degrees, posing a severe danger to Kyler. The child’s mother, Vanessa Parrot, was at work during the incident, leaving many to grieve for both the child and his mother.
