ROSS, Ohio-A group of 11 community members recently became sworn CASA volunteers with the Ross County CASA program, under the leadership of Judge J. Jeffrey Benson at the Ross County Juvenile Court. These volunteers underwent rigorous training and are committed to advocating for local children experiencing abuse and neglect. The volunteers, including Audrey Holman and Myesha Celeski, expressed their dedication to serving the community and making a positive impact on children’s lives.
This cohort represents the largest group of volunteers sworn in by the program in recent years, reflecting a growing interest in CASA work across Ohio. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for children in court, gathering information and making recommendations to support the best interests of the child. The Ross County CASA program, established in 2017, is part of a statewide network of 47 CASA programs serving children in 60 counties.
