MENTOR, Ohio-Mentor-on-the-Lake Police responded to a concerning social media post involving Lake Elementary School on May 16. Upon notification, the police contacted the school and implemented safety measures. With the help of other local agencies, the individual responsible for the post was located in another jurisdiction.
There is currently no credible threat to Lake Elementary. The police express gratitude to those who reported the post and assure the community that all potential threats will be taken seriously. A police officer was stationed at Lake Elementary for the remainder of the school day as a precaution.
