PERRYSBURG, Ohio-Students at Penta Career Center collaborated with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office to design and build a battering ram for their Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle. Senior computer-aided design student Jack Cygnor led the project, designing a battering ram capable of attaching to the MRAP and overcoming obstacles.
The project involved students from welding and manufacturing programs, who contributed to building the ram. Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn praised the partnership, highlighting its educational and safety benefits for both students and deputies. The completed battering ram is ready for field use, with plans for further enhancements in the future.
