COLUMBUS, Ohio-A former social worker accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy she was counseling has pleaded guilty. Payton Shires, 24, was facing a slew of charges. She pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, two counts of intimidation of a victim or witness and one count of inducing panic.
Shires could be sentenced to as many as 28.5 years in prison; a judge will determine her fate next month. She was first arrested back in October. The original charging documents indicated that the boy’s mom called police after finding text messages between Shires and her son.
