< 1 min read

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Columbus City Schools Board of Education concluded a lengthy meeting addressing the leaked document authored by board member Brandon Simmons. Three actions were taken against Simmons: potential legal action if he fails to produce public records, censorship for the remainder of 2024, and removal from all community assignments.

Board members denied involvement in the document’s creation, with one member describing Simmons’ behavior as disruptive and dismissive. Simmons apologized for his actions, expressing regret for the document’s existence and its impact on the district’s focus on students. Simmons stated he is obtaining legal counsel regarding public records requests. The board declined further media questions but will provide updates as necessary.
