AUSTINTOWN, Ohio-Amahrie Harsh, a senior from Hoover High School, faced uncertainty in the girls 400 at the Austintown Fitch Division I regional meet. However, she surged ahead in the final turn, winning the race in a personal-best time of 55.36 seconds. Harsh also secured victory in the 200, completing another four-win meet in the postseason.
Despite feeling nauseous before the race, she relied on her strategy and determination to excel. Harsh, who has never won at the state level, expressed high confidence heading into the state meet, where she will also compete in the 100 and as part of Hoover’s 800 relay team.
