1 in 10 Tiffin City Schools Students in Grades 7-12 Reports a Time When They Considered Taking Their Own Lives

TIFFIN, Ohio-A recent survey conducted among students in grades 7 through 12 in Tiffin City Schools revealed that 1 out of 10 students have considered taking their own lives, reflecting a stark reality. The district, which serves 2,800 students, has seen an increase in mental health counseling, totaling 1,600 hours in the past academic year.

With the onset of summer break, the need for support continues, and the school administration remains available for assistance, with counselors accessible in town. Students can also seek help by dialing the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988. The survey also highlighted that 395 families in Tiffin have reported concerns about their child’s mental health.
