Conneaut Crews Suspend Search for 10-Year-Old Boy in Lake Erie 48 Hours Later

CONNEAUT, Ohio- The search for a missing boy in Conneaut Township Park resumed at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday but was subsequently called off.  The boy was reportedly lost sight of by his family around 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Conneaut Township Park while he was in the water ankle-deep and swept under the waves.

The Coast Guard station Erie arrived at the scene around 2 p.m. on Friday, with additional support from the Coast Guard station Detroit helicopter to aid in the search. By 6 p.m. on Friday, authorities announced that the search operation had transitioned into a recovery effort.
