CINCINNATI, Ohio-The Literacy Lab’s Leading Men Fellowship, now in its third year in Cincinnati, trains young men of color to teach literacy comprehension to children. The program has 40 fellows this year, who undergo a two-week training in Cincinnati and Washington, D.C. The fellowship aims to address literacy gaps in underserved communities and increase male representation in early education. Fellows will work in underserved Cincinnati schools, focusing on preschoolers to improve their reading and language skills before kindergarten. The program seeks to provide diverse role models in education and is part of a broader effort to diversify the teaching workforce.
