AKRON, Ohio-The Akron Police Department is investigating a car theft and chase that endangered a toddler. A 2-year-old was left alone in a running vehicle at a Circle K and the car was stolen. Police pursued the vehicle through West Akron, during which the suspect hit a police cruiser. The suspect later abandoned the child in his car seat at Moon St. and Bellevue Ave. The toddler was found and taken to the hospital for evaluation, appearing unharmed. The suspect, Ja Den White, 21, was eventually apprehended on Superior Ave. and faces charges. A handgun was also recovered from the stolen vehicle.
