North College Hill Teachers Don Safety Vests, Work as Crossing Guards as District Addresses Student Safety

< 1 min read

NORTH COLLEGE HILL, Ohio-With the return of school, busy intersections and students walking to class have raised safety concerns. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports that thousands of pedestrians are hit annually, including 141 children under 13. In response, North College Hill Superintendent Dr. Eugene Blalock Jr. has increased safety measures by installing ‘School Zone’ and ‘Pedestrian Walking’ signs and adding crossing guards at key intersections. Teachers Ryan Anders and Nicolas Leakey have taken on crossing guard duties, aiming to extend the school’s safety efforts to the streets. They believe their presence helps drivers pay more attention and improves overall safety for students.
