CINCINNATI, Ohio-A 21-year-old woman, Bethoney Miller-Williams, has been arrested and faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and endangering children after her 2-year-old daughter, Ah’Layla Bradley, died from exposure to fentanyl and xylazine. Cincinnati police responded to a call about an unresponsive child on July 29, and the child was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide on September 17, leading to a warrant for Miller-Williams’ arrest. Court documents indicate she created an environment that exposed her daughter to the dangerous effects of these substances. While xylazine is not illegal in Ohio, it is an animal tranquilizer not approved for human use, known to cause severe health issues. Miller-Williams has been booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center.
