COLUMBIANA, Ohio-Columbiana South Side Middle School has been named a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School, an honor awarded to schools that demonstrate high academic performance. This year, 356 schools nationwide received the award, including 14 from Ohio, based on their performance on state assessments and efforts to close achievement gaps. Each nominated school submitted a comprehensive application detailing its culture, programs, and community involvement. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona announced the awards, highlighting the significance of the achievement for students and educators. Awarded schools receive a flag to display as a symbol of their excellence.
