BRUNSWICK, Ohio-A student at Brunswick High School was found with several airsoft guns in their car on school property, prompting a serious response from school officials. The situation began when another student reported seeing what looked like a weapon in the car on October 1. School staff quickly enacted safety protocols and contacted the Brunswick Police Department. The student was isolated while their belongings and vehicle were searched, leading to the discovery of the airsoft guns. Principal Keith Merrill emphasized that the district’s code of conduct prohibits weapons or items resembling weapons on school grounds and that appropriate disciplinary actions will follow. He also reminded the community of the importance of vigilance in maintaining school safety. This incident follows two unrelated safety threats against the district in September, both of which were deemed not credible.
