Two educators at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, Bridget Milano and Megan Boulton, established a resource closet called the Colony Cupboard to help students who lack essential items like soap, toothpaste, and hygiene products. The initiative was born out of an awareness of students’ struggles, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted financial hardships caused by factors like divorce, unemployment, or health problems. These necessities are often not covered by food pantries or government assistance. Since its creation, the Colony Cupboard has helped over 25 families, with donations from local churches and students. The resource is designed to be confidential and respectful, ensuring students feel comfortable seeking help without embarrassment
