A Piqua man convicted of the murder of a 15-month-old girl who was slammed to the floor when she wouldn’t stop crying was sentenced Tuesday to a mandatory prison term of 15 years to life by a Miami County judge who called his actions “pure evil.” Michael Mayor, 34, pleaded guilty this summer in county Common Pleas Court to felony murder while additional charges of murder, endangering children and felonious assault were dismissed.
