9-Year-Old Girl Was Kidnapped, Murdered in 1987. Family Pushing to Keep Killer in Prison

CANTON, Ohio-The family of nine-year-old Glenna Rose Brammer who was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a vicious predator in 1987 is now sounding the alarm after learning that the man convicted of the brutal crime is coming up for parole for the first time.

Despite arguments from his attorneys claiming developmental disability and childhood mistreatment, George Earl Deck was convicted in 1989 for the kidnapping, rape, and murder of Glenna Rose Brammer, receiving a life sentence. Thirty-five years later, Glenna’s family expressed fear and anger upon discovering in March that Deck was under consideration for parole in late April.

The family’s concern that Deck could somehow be paroled has caught the attention of an organization called Block Parole Inc, that is dedicated to keeping Ohio’s most violent offenders locked up for as long as the law will allow.
