RAVENNA, Ohio-The Ravenna School District organizes an annual dance event for students with unique abilities, initiated by the Director of Special Education. The event, themed “Out of this World,” involves ten school districts from Portage County and over 200 students with diverse abilities.
Students in grades five through 12 can enjoy various activities like balloon animals, bounce houses, and a DJ. The dance occurs during the school day, coinciding with Ravenna High School’s Day of Service, where students volunteer to bridge the understanding gap for students with differing abilities. The event is funded through an Amazon wish list, ensuring that every student receives a goodie bag and a prize of their choice.
