MASON, Ohio-Mason grandmother Lashawnda Walters was sentenced to seven to 10 1/2 years in prison for endangering children and tampering with evidence. She scalded a 2-year-old child on March 30, 2023, after the child soiled her diaper.
Walters placed the child in a bath with water temperatures reaching 126 degrees Fahrenheit, causing second- and third-degree burns over 17% of her body. Walters waited over five hours before seeking medical help. She deleted videos from the home’s surveillance system capturing the incident when law enforcement arrived with a search warrant.
