< 1 min read

DOWNTOWN AKRON, Ohio-During a special meeting, the Akron Public Schools (APS) Board of Education unanimously approved resolutions, including adopting the amended Redistricting-Restructuring Plan, renaming Robinson CLC to National Inventors Hall of Fame (NIHF) STEM High School, and potentially closing the Essex school building by April 1.

The regular meeting saw approvals for new positions in the communications department, selection of architecture firms for school construction projects, and announcement of the need for a levy on the November 2024 ballot for a new North High School. Additionally, retirements, supplemental pay approvals, and donations were addressed, with executive sessions resulting in the termination of a safety team member’s employment. The next meeting is scheduled for April 11.
