MARIEMONT, Ohio-A 14-year-old boy accused of planning a mass shooting at Mariemont High School has been declared competent to stand trial for conspiracy to commit aggravated murder.
The ruling, made by a juvenile court judge, comes after a second mental evaluation, prompted by the defense. The teen, who has been diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder and faces significant mental health challenges, will remain in custody until the next pretrial hearing scheduled for June 11. He has been detained since his initial court appearance in February.
