Ohio State Gives High Schoolers a Look at Medical Careers

COLUMBUS, Ohio-High school students participated in Ohio State University’s Health and Rehabilitation Sciences camp, aimed at providing hands-on experience and exploring various career options within the health sciences field. Organized by Dr. Eva George, the camp introduced students to lesser-known professions like sonography and respiratory therapy, alongside traditional medical roles.

Attendees engaged in practical activities such as sonogram procedures, autoimmune disease testing, and dietary planning for diabetes patients. The camp encouraged students, like Kanai Robinson, to broaden their understanding of healthcare careers, fostering an open-minded approach to their future paths. George emphasized the importance of exploration and encouraged students to absorb the diverse career opportunities presented during the three-day event, which ran from Monday to Wednesday.
