Otsego Parent Demands Action After Finding Racial Slur Written on Bathroom Stall

TONTOGANY, Ohio-An Otsego Local Schools parent, Sierra Cousino, discovered a racial slur written on a bathroom stall while cleaning at Otsego High School, leading her to express disappointment and demand action. After reporting the graffiti, she received a response from Superintendent Kevin O’Shea, who deemed it “ridiculous and unacceptable” and promised an investigation. However, Cousino noted that similar slurs have appeared weekly for the past three weeks without further updates from the school. While she doesn’t want to identify the offenders, she seeks a clear message from the school condemning racism. She criticized the school for addressing student conduct at football games but not the ongoing issue of racial graffiti, highlighting her frustration that the school prioritizes other misconduct over this serious matter.
