COLUMBUS, Ohio-Seventeen-year-old Brody Alexander honors veterans by playing the bagpipes at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum on Veterans Day. A high school senior at Fort Hayes Career Center and Westerville South, Brody dedicates time throughout the year to honor veterans, with Veterans Day being especially meaningful. He plays “Amazing Grace” for veterans, a song that holds personal significance due to its history with POWs and its connection to both living and deceased veterans. Brody discovered the bagpipes at age 3 and began learning at 7; he is also skilled in violin, guitar, trumpet, piano, and percussion. He enjoys performing for veterans at various events, including Honor Flights and the WWII Museum in New Orleans, and aims to continue sharing his music with veterans locally and globally.
