WEST LAKE, Ohio-Fifteen 4th-grade students from Westlake Elementary School, under the guidance of Erin Vanek, had their poems selected for publication in an anthology by Creative Communication. This is a significant achievement considering less than 50% of submissions are accepted nationally.
Moreover, Westlake Elementary School will receive the Writing Achievement Award for the second consecutive year, recognizing it as among the top 10% of participating schools. The students’ poems will now advance to the next round of competition, where the top 10 finalists will be chosen, with results expected by mid-summer.
