COLUMBUS, Ohio-During the second day of the Columbus Taco Fest at Genoa Park, attendees enjoyed tacos, live music, and activities. Increased security measures were noticeable, with more guards and police cars present, as well as new signs indicating an age restriction of 18 or older to enter.
These security updates were prompted by an early closure on the previous day due to fights among large groups of teenagers. Organizers, after consulting with Columbus police, implemented these measures to ensure the safety of attendees and vendors. Co-organizer Sydney Kondas expressed concern that such incidents could impact other festivals planned for the city, emphasizing the need for heightened security measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
