LIMA, Ohio-The Lima City Schools Free Summer Lunch Program has started, providing free grab-and-go lunches to children up to 18 years old. The program runs from June 3rd to July 25th, except on July 4th.
The Spartan Lunch Express, a school van, will make stops at three city parks (Lincoln Park, Martin Luther King Park, and Faurot Park) from 11:00 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. At each stop, children can receive a packaged lunch with a choice of food items. Additionally, the Children’s Hunger Alliance will provide shelf-stable meals at two apartment complexes. The program aims to ensure that no child goes hungry this summer and provides an opportunity for families to spend quality time together while also saving time and resources.
