Charter School Leaders, Families say CCS Bus Route Changes Mean Kids can’t Get to School

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Some Columbus families are facing challenges with school transportation as they prepare for the new school year. Parents of students attending non-public and charter schools received letters from Columbus City Schools stating that it is “impractical” to provide transportation for their children. According to Ohio Revised Code Section 3327.01, the school district is not obligated to transport students to non-public or community schools if the travel time exceeds thirty minutes by school bus from the nearest public school.
