It was supposed to be a babymoon, one final trip before the birth of their first child.
Instead, John and Kinsey Schmidt had an unexpected arrival while they were vacationing in Hawaii.
At 26 weeks pregnant, Kinsey’s water broke. She was put on bed rest in the Kapi’olani Medical Center in Honolulu. Three weeks later, on Jan. 5, 2025, baby Hayes arrived. He’s now in the NICU while his dad and mom are staying at the nearby Ronald McDonald House.
“So, she’s without a business. She’s without work. Her husband’s there, and we miss her and we just thought we could do anything we could do to support her and, you know, raise some money and awareness for her,” said Ellie Kaufman, Co-Owner of Pure Barre.
