April 3rd, 2024-CLEVELAND-Two individuals, identified as Iana McCrary, 16, and Daeshon Whalen, 9, both from Cleveland, died in a collision between the vehicle they were in and a private garbage truck on Interstate 90 in Cleveland. The crash occurred around 12:10 p.m. in the westbound lane near West 98th Street, leading to the closure of a portion of the highway for investigation.
The driver of the garbage truck’s injuries are unknown, and the company owning the truck, Kimble Recycling and Disposal Inc., expressed condolences and promised full cooperation with the police investigation. Several people were transported to MetroHealth Medical Center after the crash, but the number of vehicles involved and the cause of the crash were not disclosed by the authorities. Additionally, it was not stated whether the two victims were related.
