CORTLAND, Ohio-Lakeview Local Schools held a candlelight vigil at the football field to support eighth-grade student Frankie Placanica, who sustained a head injury during track practice. Approximately 200 attendees gathered to pray for Frankie’s recovery and show support for his family during this difficult time.
Described as a “freak accident,” the incident has prompted an outpouring of community support. The vigil, led by Father Christopher Cicero, aimed to offer hope and comfort through prayer, with attendees signing a poster titled “Prayers for Frankie.”
