Toledo Police Say 1-year-old Hospitalized After Possibly Eating Marijuana Edibles

TOLEDO, Ohio-A one-year-old child was hospitalized after possibly consuming marijuana edibles at a family gathering. Natalie Rine, director of the Central Ohio Poison Center, highlighted the risks of children ingesting such products, which can lead to severe symptoms like dizziness and difficulty breathing.

She emphasized the importance of storing marijuana edibles securely, preferably in a lockbox away from other snacks and out of children’s reach, treating them like any other dangerous substances. Since Ohio legalized medical marijuana in 2016, cases of accidental marijuana overdoses in children have increased, underscoring the need for caution and proper storage.
