April 8th, 2024-MEDINA, Ohio-Medina, Ohio, was named an ambassador city for the Solar Eclipse by the Great Lakes Science Center, prompting city officials to organize a series of activities not only on the day of the eclipse but also throughout the preceding weekend.
Events included a 5K/fun run, exhibits, and presentations at the Medina Community Recreation Center, a scavenger hunt, library activities, fireworks, a dance party, a bar crawl, and a fly-in at the Medina Municipal Airport. Additionally, the Medina County Fairgrounds offered space for travelers with motorhomes visiting Medina for the event.
