TOLEDO, Ohio-Shannon Nicole Mallendick, a teacher at Rogers High School in Toledo Public Schools, was arrested in Monclova for allegedly driving under the influence. She pleaded not guilty to charges of OVI and drug possession. Despite her plea, she agreed to wear a monitoring bracelet and was suspended with pay pending an internal investigation by TPS.
Deputies found her intoxicated in her car, leading to her arrest, with a breathalyzer test showing a high blood-alcohol content. Additionally, deputies discovered what appeared to be marijuana and pills in her car. This isn’t her first encounter with the law, as she faced similar charges in 2015, which were later dismissed.
